Bio:
This former Tar Heel was selected with the No. 39 overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft by the Milwaukee Bucks Noel. Noel is a terrific athlete and the consummate role player. He has great strength, excellent leaping ability and outstanding hands. Noel does what the coach tells him, executes well, plays hard and shows a high basketball IQ. He is an excellent defender and possesses strong leadership skills. Most of his damage offensively comes within 16 feet and in, but he expanded his game out to the perimeter more his senior year and did a good job knocking down open looks.
Finished with 880 points, 549 rebounds, 247 assists, 60 blocks and 137 steals. Started 51 of 127 games. Scored in double figures 35 times. National Championship in 04-05. Won slam dunk contest at 2006 Final Four. Was a football star in high school, and has been scouted by the NFL, in the hopes that he’ll consider a change should basketball not pan out. A 6-6, 223-pound Durham native, he earned second-team All-ACC honors in leading UNC to its surprising second-place finish in the ACC and top-ten national ranking in 2005-06.
