Bio:
Dontaye Draper was born in Baltimore , Maryland on August 10, 1984 to parents Aundra Coner and Terry Draper. Dontaye attended Wallbrook High School where he earned four letters. He was named Tri-State and Founders League Player of the Year and earned first team All-Conference. Dontaye was nominated for McDonalds All-American and played in the Baltimore vs. U.S. All-Starts Charm City Challenge.
After his impressive high school career, Dontaye attended the College of Charleston where he ranked 4th on the school’s all time Division 1 scoring list with 1,541 points. Dontaye holds the school record in scoring with his 38 point game versus ASU in the Southern Conference Tournament. He was named to the College of Charleston Classic All-Tournament Team and All-South Conference in 2005, 2006, and 2007. In 2007, Dontaye was named to the Southern Conference All-Tournament Team as well as NABC All-District.
During the summer of 2007, Dontaye played for the Denver Nuggets in the NBA Las Vegas Summer League where he had a high game of 15 points, 6 assists, and 6 rebounds versus the New York Knicks.
