Slovenia defeated Iran Thursday, to record their fourth win at the FIBA World Championship. Goran Dragic scored 18 points to go with his 6 rebounds as Slovenia clinched second place in preliminary Group B. They will now face Australia in the quarterfinals. Iran wrapped up their campaign at 1-4 record in the fifth position in Group B. Slovenia opened the game with seven quick points. They stayed in control and outscored Iran in the opening period 19 to 6.
