The previous season he played also at Benfica (LPB) in Portugal. In 30 games he averaged 12.8ppg, 6.4rpg, 1.3apg and 1.1spg last season. He helped them to win the league title and the Supercup. Gomes played for Portuguese Senior National Team between 2005 and 2013 and previously for U20 National Team in 2005.
